Model HD800 Sonar (High Performance):

The Model HD800 award winning series offers split screen and dual screen options, and a new software mode for easier detection of individual or dispersed fish such as a single tuna. This software will add a sparkle to targets that otherwise may go undetected.

Commercial Applications

The HD800 series sonars are designed for the two major commercial fishing applications - split screen option for trawlers and a dual screen option for purse seiners, and offer both horizontal and vertical scanning. HD800's are also used by some long-liners.

Sport Fishing - Navigation Applications

HD800 sonars are also perfect for medium to large yachts and sport fishing vessels. These new sonar systems are patterned after the rugged WESMAR sonars used on large factory trawlers around the world, and are now available for medium size vessels.

HD800 Sonar Advanced Scanning Features:

Scan horizontally to locate fish schools and vertically to track them close to the bottom. You can save all preset adjustments as the sonar switches back and forth between the two. And For navigation, the horizontal scan finds any objects in your path that could potentially damage your boat.

Advanced software in the dual screen mode allows for even further analysis of fishing conditions. It combines split screen and forward scanning screen capability while pulling up the overlay window. With this you can be scanning forward in search of fish and at the same time run a bottom profile.

As the sound beam passes through the target you can activate a third screen. This vertical scanning (thickness mode) produces a window on the sonar that shows the density or size of the fish school you are monitoring. For navigation, the simultaneous vertical and horizontal views make for easy recognition of danger.

 
Selecting the Right HD800 Sonar:

Frequency is the most important characteristic of a sonar. Normally low frequency will give you the longest range, while high frequency will offer the best resolution. Sonar frequencies range from 160 to 27 kHz, with the 160 kHz being most popular. The combined range and resolution of the focused beam 110 kHz sonars make them perfect for most fisheries and sport fishermen.
